WasteLand pt.2
The wasteland is still confusing to me. After class on thursday I had a little more understanding of this poem. I understand the fact that everything will be better if it just dies. This is true because when everything dies then the worl d would be better because then there is nothing to do if everything and everyone is dead. But the wasteland is still a confusing poem to read and i will never read it again once i leave out of english 204. I dont beleive how elliot could think he was smarter than anybody with the type of work he publsihed. Also if he is poet how can he assume that the reader has already read the other authours works and have a clear understanding of these other writers. That was a dumb thing to think elliot if you are a poet. You are to explian yourself in such a way the reader can get an understanding of your works. When reading the wasteland you have the wrong picture in your mind and thats clearly wrong . No more T.S. Elliot!!!!!!

The Wasteland was probably one of my least favorite books of the class. I didn't get what it was talking about until we discussed it in class. Maybe I didn't focus as much on the readings as I should have, because there was a deeper meaning to everything that Eliot had written. So I was quite glad when we finished reading this also.
